Definition:
MEDIUMS: Mediums are people who have a special gift that allows spirit people to give messages from the afterlife. It usually takes extensive training and discipline to fine-tune this gift. The objective of a medium's work is to prove survival of the human personality after death and to help the bereaved come to terms with their loss. Sittings with mediums are not for fortune telling, but are experimental sessions to provide evidence of survival. Any attempt to communicate with Spirit is, by its very nature, purely experimental and therefore, results can never be guaranteed.
What is the difference between a psychic and a medium? A psychic reads the energy around a person, a place, or an object. A medium can do that, but their primary focus is on spirit contact.
How does Willa work as a medium? Willa considers herself to be an old-fashioned medium. Therefore, the main focus of the reading is on spirit contact---family and friends who have passed over.
Willa sees, hears, or feels spirits and they usually give her information regarding the people and situations around the person she is reading for.
The spirit(s) may offer guidance depending upon the situation---they won't tell you what to do, but they will clarify a situation and sometimes provide the highest probability of how a person will react or how a situation will resolve. Ultimately, we each have free will to determine our action and reaction to events.
What is the true Mission of Spirit Messages? To offer proof to men and women of the continuity of human life. To spiritualize our thoughts, affections, and lives by instruction and guidance. To bring us consolation in the sorrows and bereavements of life. To enable us to reach through mediumship exalted and powerful spiritual helpers in the great crises of Life. Spirit messages are not designed to take the place of our own reason and moral sense in ordinary affairs or in business life.
What is Spiritualism? Spiritualism is a science, a religion, and a philosophy. It is the religion which demonstrates through Mediumship life's continuity after death, affirms man's divine origin and relationship, inspires and aids man in self-development, and offers him the richest consolation in life's sorrows.
What conditions are necessary on the part of the sitter to get the truth in a spirit message? A mind free from bias, absolute sincerity, a supreme desire for truth whether it proves agreeable or the reverse, and a calm, receptive mind.
Suggestions for Receiving a Reading
- Allow the medium to proceed in their own manner. Do not expect your first problem to be discussed at once.
- Evidence comes in many ways: descriptions, relationships, names, etc.
- Do not be too quick to say "no." Welcome the spirit even if you are unable to recognize immediately. Later, you may recall the name, symbol, or situation.
- The true value of a reading is not always measured by prophecy. Prediction is possible, but you have free will to make changes. "Guidance" is the key word.
